The Construction project Manager is responsible for developing cost information that the company uses to assess bid contracts and for monitoring construction progress and costs of new projects compared to approved budgets and time schedules.


Essential Functions: 

  • Analyze and estimate costs; prepare cost summaries for projects, including equipment, labor, materials, site preparation, sub-contractor costs and other related costs as needed.
  • Travel to proposed sites and collect information on electricity, water, topography and other related site information.
  • Facilitate communication between store operations, architects, engineering, developers, owners, and external contractors; clarifying expectations for information and service delivery
  • Review and provide input for development of project plans for retail store construction.
  • Manage construction plan(s) and maintain current project status records.
  • Report, track, and trouble-shoot exceptions and escalate, track and resolve conflicts regarding resource commitment and delivery of results.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Complete other duties as assigned.



Education/Years of Experience: 

  • Degree in construction management, building or construction science and first hand industry experience along with 3+ years of construction management including cost estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of the position.

Other Qualifications:   

  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials, costs, and construction procedures is required.
  • Computer proficient with ability to use Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Products.  Auto Cad 14 expertise is a plus.
  • Proven aptitude for math with the ability to analyze, compare and interpret detailed information and make accurate judgment based on the information.
  • Strong negotiating and buying skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • General knowledge of facility management: electrical, HVAC, flooring, structural, painting, landscaping, asphalt work, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance costs and quality within a defined budget.
