The Merchandise Specialist assists the Product Manager (Buyer) and is responsible for retail data management including: item set-up and maintenance (SKU), SAS/assortment maintenance, markdown and other pricing/ad hoc reports.


Essential Functions:

  • Enter and compile data in an accurate and timely manner by placing and tracking  orders. Work with internal and vendor partners to ensure product is received on time
  • Update advertising worksheets to obtain print proofs and images, edit copy, and work with creative team to supply missing information. Proof ads and signing for accurate items & price
  • Track purchase orders. Maintain contact with vendors and ensure orders are received on time
  • Responsible for coordinating planogram by obtaining samples or pictures for Pro-Space and swapping out items on planograms as directed by the Product Manager.
  • Provide reporting on a consistent and ad-hoc basis as requested/needed to effectively manage the business.
  • Respond to and complete e-help tickets
  • Assist Business Analyst with inventory allocation as needed

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Complete other duties as assigned.


Education/Years of Service:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or Retail Merchandising; 1 – 2 years of applicable work experience in a retail setting or an internship in a similar retail business setting


  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other PC applications.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Assertive with strong initiative and willing to learn and grow in a fast paced, ever changing retail environment.
  • Demonstrated organizing and prioritizing skills, attention to detail, and initiative in completing tasks in a timely and reliable manner.
  • Strong communication skills to support teamwork, as well as contact with stores, vendors, and merchants.
